A few weeks ago, I made use of my passport and got my first stamp traveling to Canada for Thanksgiving. I will forever have TWO Thanksgivings to look forward to. One in October and one almost two months later in November. That's good news because I love me my turnips and squash.

Well, it’s more like I merely ENTERED the world 80 days AGO, but that’s just a tiny semantic. I digress from my HUGE NEWS and would like to happily announce I just received my passport in the mail. This means many great things … first of which, I can start living up to the intrepid traveler reputation I am trying so hard to build. Secondly, I will have ID to get into bars if needed.
More ...There are so many little people to hang out with which makes me really happy that my future will be surrounded with so many friends my age. The newest addition to the gang is Blake, who was born on what my entrance day was supposed to be, so I already feel a strong bond with him. His parents are Eric and Tracy who are very special to my parents and I constantly hear good things about them.
More ...Today, as we all know, was Father's Day. It was an auspicious first for both my Father AND me. I gave him some lovely books on why sons need their Dads and an interesting book chock full of things for us to do together. He loved them both and we shared a relaxing moment at the beach. Then I drank a bottle of milk and fell asleep in the middle of the bed spread eagle style.
More ...Today I encountered some sort of black beast with a long nose who could flash quick shots of bright light out of his one eye and was attacking my Dad’s face. It made me cry because I was starting to really get attached to my Dad and wanted him to stick around. Turns out all my dramatics were for nothing. It was only something called a camera with a zoom lens and a flash.
Apparently it’s used to capture moments like when I go ballistic about cameras or make funny faces back at my Daddy and Mommy’s funny faces. I will have to make a mental note for future reference about cameras so I don’t make a scene at a party or a restaurant or something (after all, I do have a rep to protect). One thing I have observed is my Dad’s attachment to this object and he never, ever leaves home without it. Looks like I have some competition ;)
Now that I know it won’t hurt him or eat his face and it’s all about capturing moments of me, well I’m totally down with the paparazzi and the infringement of my coveted privacy. That is, until they bust out the naked bath shots at my high school graduation party or something.
More ...In Western Astrology, I am a Taurus the bull ... ike my Mother. In the Chinese Zodiac, I am the Year of the Rat. Here is a little about the signs under which I am born. I put the descriptive traits of my parents next each of my sign’s details, to let everyone know how I am the perfect combo of them!
A Taurus child does what he likes to do and pushing him against his will gets you nowhere. He will adopt the same stance a bull has when it doesn't wants to move. [Mom]. Soothing colors and sounds have a positive effect on a Taurean child. He is also likely to be interested in creative arts - like painting [Dad]. He will be very sincere in his studies, good at memorizing, have excellent concentration powers and be extremely hard working. [Both Mom and Dad].
More ...You're the best!
Because my arrival time was a tad early, I got to actually witness being the guest of honor at my own party this past Saturday! It was a real phat affair complete with everything a fantastic celebration should have. Great atmosphere, delicious food, a cake like every little kid only dreams about, and lots and lots of friends and family who attended to celebrate of all things, ME! Who would have thought little old me could cause such a fuss or warrant such attention? I would like to personally thank everyone who helped pull it off with such impressive, graceful entertaining ease, as well as everyone who took the time and made the trip to make the day extra special. Boy, am I ever so lucky to have so many new friends. I look forward to personally meeting each and every one of you because if my Mom and Dad think you are special enough to hang with, you must be some cool, classy folk and therefore, a-okay in my book. Looking forward to loving you all, and again a thousand thanks from the bottom of my little heart. XOXOXO.
More ...At 6:38 last Monday, I entered the world and today marks my very first week of life. The party this evening will be a very small, select few and extremely low-key. The festivities will consist of a few poopie-diapers, followed by getting drunk on a boob-juice cocktail and then bobbing my head back in a drunken stupor, passing out, jolting myself back awake only to start spitting up on myself and passing back out again. Now that’s the life of a total Baby Rock Star.
More ...Let me explain a little about my name - McLean Howard Hudson. It’s a family name and spelled McLean. It’s pronounced ‘Mack’ ‘Lane’ -- as in Stephenson (formerly of MAS*H) or Shirley (sister of Warren Beatty and acclaimed Oscar-winning clairvoyant actress).
I am named after my Great Grandmother, Jessie McLean on my Grandma Hudson/Duncan’s side. In fact, there was a McLean born on the very same day I was over 140 years ago! My middle name Howard was derived from my Great Grandfather on my Grandma Jordan/Heilberger side. Hudson comes from my Dad and my Grandad’s family.
I am sorry I don’t have the chance to meet my first two namesakes. I hear they were really special and would have loved them very much. I am honored to keep their names alive in a new generation and look forward to hearing many stories about them through my grandparents and parents. I am also really looking forward to an all-Hudson boy retreat one day with my Granddad, Dad, Uncle Duncan and cousin Sam when I am a bit bigger
Greetings everyone. Welcome to my world. I am absolutely thrilled to be out in fresh air and hear sounds clearly instead of constantly muted and muffled.
Although I can’t see clearly yet with my eyes that will hopefully remain blue, rest assured I will be able to make the visual distinction between a twizzler and a spear of asparagus one day. I’m sure this will probably make my Mom cry she’s already losing me and my Dad will beam with pride because we will share the same sweet tooth.
My journey to get here has been long, but interesting and extremely surprising to say the least. From the excitement vibe I constantly feel, I gather my arrival has been very anticipated which already makes me feel like a superstar in that I have a solid friend base.
As for some tales of my voyage, it started with me being robbed of a bit of my essential amniotic fluid in an amnio (and, if any of you remotely know my Mom, you know how every drop of liquid counted for me). I also suffered from a severe lack of space (you New Yorkers can relate) as time passed. Then, at 30 weeks, I was literally ‘shocked’ in-utero because my Mom had an accident. The experience was, needless to say, intense. I fully accept my fate to become some sort of gifted, electrically powered, future superhero. Besides, I got the last laugh on my Mom and Dad when I decided to let everyone know I would have none of this induction nonsense and I play by my own rules by coming unannounced and unexpected three weeks ahead of schedule.
Well, I’m off to nap again, but stop by and give me a shout out when you get the chance, you can never have too many friends.
